Tata Medical Center has held fundraisers over the years for the benefit of the hospital. These annual events hosted at the Taj London (as the venue and hospitality partner) have been well attended and appreciated.
The lesser known side of Gandhi – was a play featuring Dilip Tahil as Gandhi inspired from Gandhiji’s archived journals and screened in London and Mumbai. The play was held in February 2012 in London. Works of art by well known painters were also auctioned at the event and the funds were donated to the hospital.
Celebrating 100 years of Bollywood, the show featured stalwarts of Hindi cinema like Javed Akhtar, Shabana Azmi, Sharmila Tagore, Waheeda Rehman, Sonam Kapoor, Vishal Bharadwaj, Asha Parekh, Rekha Bharadwaj. The stars’ reminiscing and sharing interesting anecdotes from their journey in Bollywood was accompanied by musical melodies over the decades crooned by accomplished singers. The show was hosted in London, Kolkata and Mumbai. The gala event was held in London in February 2013. Specially created works of art and other souvenirs were auctioned at the event.
A parody of South Indians accompanied by a performance by the singing Diva, UshaUthup was staged in February 2014. Famous South Indian film actor Sridevi and Director Boney Kapoor graced the occasion.
